Following the very successful concert in April 2007 for the Churchill Fellows, our organist Andrew Seivewright is organising a similiar event for Sunday 17 February 2008 at 3.30pm in St Oswald's, all are welcome to attend.
Christmas Services
For Christmas and New Year the Methodist Church has no separate services planned and therefore all the following services united services.
It is twenty years since the interior of St Oswald’s was painted and it is need of redecoration. This is not a simple job and will require extensive scaffolding as well as cleaning. The PCC in September approved this work, and this will mean that for Health and Safety reasons the Church will be closed between 9th and 30th January 2008.
St Oswald’s PCC at its meeting on 13 September decided after some discussion that in future the Tithe Barn should not hired out to any Political Party for any reason and that no adverts for Political Parties should be placed in the Parish Magazine. This policy which takes effect from October is in no way a criticism of any Political Party but rather to make clear the complete impartiality of the Church in all matters of Party politics.
